Jennifer Lopez is The New Face of Coach for their 2020 Ad Campaign

Fashion loves Jennifer Lopez. If they aren’t dressing her up on the red carpet, they’re using her as their muse on their ad campaigns. The latest to do so is Coach, who previewed their latest campaign featuring the pop superstar. On Instagram, they shared, “Get ready to be swept away. #JLo is the new face of Coach. More to come in 2020 #CoachxJLo #CoachNY”.

“Thank you @coach! Exciting things coming soon!!!” replied Lopez also on Instagram. She reposted the shot the brand previously shared. The image shows the singer dressed in a double-breasted coat and a dotted scarf that billows in the wind. Though weirdly cut from the shot, she holds a chained bag while also showing off her diamond engagement ring. The wind also blows her hair a bit as she looks down at what looks like an emotional pose. It’s all in black and white, which may also suggest that the entire ad campaign will also feature equally dramatic shots. Apart from Lopez, Michael B. Jordan and Selena Gomez also serve as ambassadors for Coach.

“I’m so excited for this collaboration with Coach. It is a timeless brand that I’ve always been a fan of and the upcoming collection really speaks to my personal style –– an uptown downtown mix.” she shared about her new modeling gig. The brand’s creative director, Stuart Vevers, also highlighted the similarities between Lopez and Coach and why she’s the perfect new face for the new campaign. “Jennifer is so authentic. She’s determined and she’s an original who has followed her own path to do things her own way — she really embodies the attitude of Coach and our new campaign. She’s from New York like Coach, which creates another authentic connection with our heritage, and I’m particularly excited about bringing Jennifer and Juergen Teller together.” It’s important to note that JLO has modeled for other brands before. In fact, just recently, she recreated an iconic look from nearly two decades ago that catapulted her into worldwide fame. It was the palm tree-printed skin-baring Versace dress she wore for the 2000 Grammy awards. The curiosity of people to see what Lopez looked like in the dress grew so strong, Google had to provide a new service that can provide images of that red carpet look. And thus, Google Images was born. JLo in her Versace dress now holds the title of the first-ever look that “broke the internet,”.

With such a historic moment in their archives, Versace then recreated the dress for their 2020 collection. Most of the pieces had a tropical theme to it, similarly to that of the infamous dress. And for the finale, none other than JLo herself walked down the runway in a new version of the iconic garment. Sashaying her gown on the runway, it was one of the biggest moments during the Spring 2020 fashion weeks. But, apart from Coach and Versace, she has become the face of other labels’ ad campaigns as well. They include Guess, Louis Vuitton, and Robert Cavalli, among many others. It seems her star power is a strong advertising asset. And it doesn’t hurt that she looks great in all of these brands!  What do you think of Jennifer Lopez as the new face of Coach?
