As several musicians and DJs pop up in California’s nightlife scene, it’s hard to keep track of who’s trending and who’s not. It’s not easy for an aspiring artist to land a name for themselves in a specific area alone. DJ Refr3sh is a Salvadoran-American from Santa Ana, California, who grew up with an affinity for music. He developed a passion for it at an early age, spending countless hours listening to his CDs and jamming out with his own set of drums during his youth. At the age of 15, he was introduced to the world of disk jockeying by his cousin, DJ Dablin, another local talent from Santa Ana. Before long, he bought his own set of turntables and began playing at various private events by himself, most of them at his family and friends’ house parties. He started his profession the best way: by learning and playing with more experienced DJs which helped him develop his own musical identity in the process.
As he invested more time into honing his craft and jumpstarting his career, he caught the attention of various nightclubs and bars in California. He then decided to make disk-jockeying his full-time job in 2012. He got hired to play in some of the hottest night spots in Los Angeles, Orange County, and Riverside. For the next 8 years, DJ Refr3sh was one of the most in-demand DJs in the state. It eventually led to him earning a spot at 99.1KGGI a IheartRadio station as the on-air mixer of IE’s Hottest Music in 2017.
So what’s so killer about DJ Refr3sh? For one thing, his transitions are so smooth you can party all night long non-stop! Once he turns up, his beats make the atmosphere almost pleasingly intoxicating. Just take a listen to his 30-minute mixtape “Vegas I’m Coming Vol. 1” and various other tracks in his N360Sound page.
