As 2019 ends, a lot of streaming services have started releasing their year-end charts. They include all of the songs, videos, movies, and TV series that have trended the most this past 12 months. Spotify‘s ‘SpotifyWrapped’ even topped trending lists all over the world recently. People kept on posting their results on social media, which showed their top artists, songs, and genres of the past year.

Subsequently, YouTube also released its own top lists. Although theirs doesn’t personalize their results, they do show the most popular videos throughout the past year. In terms of music videos, here are the top ten that trended the most this 2019:

Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus – Old Town Road (Remix)

It’s no surprise that Lil Nas X‘s “Old Time Road” remix with Billy Ray Cyrus took the number one spot on this list. No, it’s not the actual music video, but it’s actually the single video when they first released the remix. Having broken the record for spending the most number consecutive weeks atop Billboard‘s Hot 100 Singles chart, of course, the video stops this list!

Dababy – Suge (Yea Yea)

Dababy‘s “Suge (Yea Yea)” became one of the surprise hip hop hits of 2019. It even served as a favorite track for dancer YouTubers to use for their own routines and showcases. And with his funny and quirky music video, it expectedly made this list. It even took the second top spot!

Yo Gotti ft. Lil Baby – Put a Date On It

A good recipe for a chart-topping rap music video includes a bit of street glamour and a pinch of unorthodox quirk. Fortunately for Yo Gotti and Lil Baby, their music video for “Put A Date On It” has all of these and more. No wonder the video took the third spot on YouTube’s top ten trending music videos of 2019.

Polo G Feat. Lil Tjay – Pop Out

Judging by the fourth-ranking music video on this list, hip hop really trended the most this past 2019. But Polo G and Lil Tjay‘s music video for “Pop Out” featured unique animation that really packs in quite an impact. Directed by Ryan Lynch and produced by JDONTHATRACK & Iceberg, the cartoonish touches really amped up what might have been a sub-standard rap video.

Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus – Old Town Road (Official Movie)

Want to know just how big “Old Town Road” really was? Its single video topped this list while its official music video took the number 5 spot. Having two YouTube uploads take two first-half spots on the service’s year-end top trending list really does prove its crazy popularity this past year!

Offset ft. Cardi B – Clout

When you put a hip hop power-couple in a music video, except that it really will get a lot of views! Is there anyone really surprised that Offset and Cardi B‘s “Clout” music video made it onto this list? The video looks cool and colorful and they even performed it during this year’s BET Awards. Their spot on this list was frankly inevitable!

Billie Eilish – bad guy

bad guy” catapulted Billie Eilish to superstardom. Before the single, she was just your ordinary teenager. But since she released it, she has become one of today’s biggest stars and now, a Grammy-nominated artist! So, of course, her music video for the song made it on this list!

21 Savage ft. J. Cole – a lot

No matter how an artist’s song sounds like, if he/she packs in enough glamour and intriguing storylines, it’s sure to become popular. 21 Savage‘s “a lot” music video with J. Cole has all fo these and more. It features a unique, almost cinematic approach that’s becoming more and more common in hip hop nowadays.

Ariana Grande – 7 Rings

Of course, when it comes to glamour, Ariana Grande never disappoints. And for a single where sings about her favorite things, and that she gets them for herself, you know it’s going to be lit. “7 Rings” made the 9th spot on this list and is anybody really surprised?

Daddy Yankee & Snow – Con Calma (Video Oficial)

Finally, Daddy Yankee and Snow’s “Con Calma” takes the tenth spot on YouTube’s top ten trending music videos of 2019. Reggaeton had quite the big year, and so it’s only fitting that a single of that genre makes it into this list. What’s even better? It’s reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee‘s music video!
