Is this the comeback fans have been waiting for? It very well looks like it! Ultra Music Festival just announced that Revealed Records, Hardwell‘s own label, will take over a stage in their upcoming 2020 edition. This news comes after the organizers revealed the festival’s 2020 Phase 1 lineup, which didn’t include Hardwell himself.
Hardwell’s ‘Reveal Recordings’ label will dominate the event’s UMF Radio Stage this 2020. The takeover comes at the label’s 10th-anniversary. Alongside them, NGHTMRE & SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations label will also take over the special stage during the anniversary edition. While many are speculating that this might mean the Dutch DJ will finally return to performing live, there’s still no confirmation to that. This news may very well just reveal that his label and artists under it will play on the stage, but not necessarily Hardwell himself. Otherwise, Ultra Music Festival should have included his name to the Phase 1 lineup they announced last week. But they didn’t.
Either way, fans got a little excited about hearing Hardwell’s name mentioned by Ultra Music Festival. This only goes to show that his followers are especially eager for his return. Since September 2018, Hardwell has been on hiatus from performing live and releasing new music. At the time, he claimed that he wanted to focus on his personal life, hence, the took a break from touring the world. Though he has made countless appearances in various EDM events, he didn’t take to the stage to play his music. He did, however, reassure fans that he will return to the DJ booth soon. A lot of people already speculate that he has returned but with a new and mysterious persona. Back in October, many fans believed that the hooded ‘Mr. X,’ who played a set during Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano‘s part at the Amsterdam Dance Event Festival 2019 was Hardwell in disguise. Those who were able to look at the hooded DJ up close noted similarities between him and the Dutch producer. Rumors regarding the ‘Mr. X” being Hardwell in disguise circulated a lot that his manager had to put out a statement denying them. “In response to the recent rumor surrounding the news that Hardwell played a secret set disguised as the mysterious ‘Mr. X’ during Amsterdam Dance Event. I would like to officially confirm that whilst Robbert did make an appearance at SJRM’s ADE party, he was not there to perform but merely there to support his friends’ event and to enjoy the night.” shared Anna Knaup.
So now, fans remain patiently waiting for Hardwell’s return to the stage. Since his own label will celebrate a milestone in the festival, they expect that the Dutch DJ will, at least, make an appearance. He might even appear on stage as his label take over the UMF Radio Stage. But it’s highly unlikely that he will play his own or new music at the event. Ultra Music Festival will run from March 20 to 22, 2020 at Bayfront Park in Miami, Florida. Stay tuned on this space for more updates!
