If you ever wished for hot girlfriends like them, you’re in luck! The Pussycat Dolls have finally reunited almost a decade after they split back in 2010. X-Factor UK judge Nicole Scherzinger once again led Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, and Kimberly Wyatt on stage during the “The X-Factor: Celebrity” finale.
Watch their performance on “The X-Factor: Celebrity” below:
Decked out in black and shimmering PVC outfits, the girl group that once defined sexual aggression came out aggressively sexy. They performed a medley of hits, including “Don’t Cha,” “Buttons,” and “When I Grow Up,”. They also debuted their new single as well, entitled “React.” Dancing on chairs in their signature burlesque fashion, the single seems like their typical sexy banger with an expectedly provocative dance to go along with it. Even though they just performed a tiny snippet of it, the teased track already sounds like their standard dance track. Though when they will drop the single remains unknown.
Prior to the performance. Scherzinger already announced the group’s reunion on social media. On Instagram, the pop singer shared the group’s heart-shaped logo with the caption, “#PCDReunion 💖”. The other members subsequently reposted the same image, further confirming that the group has finally come back together again. And even before that, Scherzinger’s fellow judge in The X-Factor UK, Louis Walsh, confirmed on a British talk show that the group was scheduled to perform for the series’ finale episode. Talks of The Pussycat Dolls’ reunion had been circulating for quite some time now. Their recent performance was just the first that truly made it into a reality. “What a buzz. Back on stage with my girls! Loved every second of it. Bring on the tour hunni.'” Roberts shared after the performance. “The energy was insane. Pure magic. It’s like no time has passed and there’s no doubt we’re back. It feels incredible to be back on stage with my girls on a whole new level. PCD 2020!” continued Bachar. Wyatt later said, “Tonight was the night! I got to be back on stage with my Dolls on The X Factor. We threw it down,”. While Sutta added, “It felt so good to be back with the girls again. We had raw freaky fun.”.
As Roberts mentioned, part of the dolls’ reunion is a new tour. From April to May, the group plans to tour Commonwealth countries. They will begin in Dublin, Ireland on April 5, 2020, and will venture into England, Australia, and New Zealand after. And with their tour, they also seemingly plan to release new music. They already teased their new single, “React,” during their “X-Factor” performance. It’s highly likely they will release either an EP or even a full-blown album by the time their tour starts. Notably absent from this reunion, however, is Melody Thornton. Consequently, Roberts explained to the BBC that Thornton was too busy to take part in the reunion. “Mel’s got a lot of projects going on in life. She was included in all of this. She’s our sister, the door is always open, but it just wasn’t the right timing for her.” she relayed.
