Selena Gomez plans to open the new year with a bang! She finally revealed when she will drop her new album and let’s just say it’s quite near the New Year’s. She has already released two singles, “Lose You To Love Me” and “Look At Her Now,” which have both received commendable success.

“You can now preorder my new album, out January 10, 2020. This album is my diary from the past few years and I can’t wait for you to hear it. Title, art, and tracklist coming soon. ❤ http://smarturl.it/SelenaSG2” she tweeted. She also included a teaser video with snippets from the two music videos she has already dropped. Despite sharing the release date, however, she has yet to reveal what will be the title of the record. Not even its album cover artwork either. “This album is my diary from the past few years and I can’t wait for you to hear it.” she also shared.

Stakes are high for this upcoming album. This is will be her first solo official release since her 2016 album, “Revival,” From then until now, she has strayed away from the limelight. Media outlets even reported that Gomez got hospitalized because of her Lupus illness and went into rehab to work on her mental health. This is the first time that she’s finally releasing new music after experiencing all of that. And since the album will serve as a sort of diary, a personal look into what she’s gone through and who she is now, her songs will likely resonate with a lot of people.  Furthering the hype is the fact that both of her first two singles have achieved tremendous success. In fact, her first release, “Lose You To Love Me,” became her first-ever No. 1 single on Billboard‘s Hot 100 singles chart. The ballad had a particularly deep emotional vibe to it, with many speculating it may have been about her relationship with famous ex, Justin Bieber. Meanwhile, her second track, “Look At Her Now,” quite obviously speaks to her new transformation. Here, she took on a fiercer look and energy which, in contrast to the first song, might mean the album will sound musically diverse.

Ironically, despite the liberating tone of her first singles, Gomez has gotten into some trouble recently. For one thing, Bieber’s wife, Hailey Baldwin-Bieber, posted on her IG story that fans thought shaded Gomez. They even saw it as a form of a threat. However, Baldwin-Bieber denied that her post had anything to do with the pop star and told fans not to stir up tension between them.

Then there’s Gomez’s purported feud with Bella Hadid. Both stars famously dated singer The Weeknd, so people anticipated friction between the two. Over the weekend, Hadid deleted a post that Gomez commented on, leading many to believe it was shade. But the supermodel then clarified that she deleted it because she didn’t delete the pic because of the singer, it was because she simply didn’t like the snapshot. All is well and good between the two now.  Selena Gomez’s yet-to-be-titled solo album will drop on January 10, 2020. You can already pre-order it on the Apple Music store by clicking here.
