It looks like Harry Styles‘ new era in music is now in full swing. After surprising fans with a steamy music video for “Lights Up,” the former One Direction member took to Twitter for new announcements. In a cryptic tweet, he revealed that he’s named his forthcoming album “Fine Line” and that it will drop this December.

Simultaneously with his Twitter announcement, styles also went on Instagram to reveal the official artwork. Fashion photographer Tim Walker shot the cover, which features Styles in a fish-eye-shot surreal image. He wears a hot pink shirt and white high-waisted pants—a decidedly feminine ensemble that may some underlying meanings. With his distinctly camp pose, many fans have already speculated that this album might touch on Styles’ sexual fluidity. More particularly, his purported bisexuality. It’s a similar theory that arose following his last music video. Meanwhile, on the other side of the spectrum, other fans feel that this new record might be all about one of his famous exes, Taylor Swift.

The cover itself seems to have fans thinking about how the album might shed light on Styles’s sexuality. For one thing, many have noted the colors, blue and pink, seem to allude to the bisexual flag within the LGBTQ+ community. Some even stressed that the shades of the hues even match the said flag. Additionally, his campy pose nudges to a more effeminate side, highlighting the album (and possibly the era’s) non-conformity of societal gender norms. In fact, Styles even once famously said, “We’re all a little gay”.  In a previous interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Styles admitted that the new album will be “all about sex and feeling sad,”. This makes the first theory about the nature of the record all the more credible. He has also revealed that when he was writing songs for “Fine Line,” he was high up on magic mushrooms. It’s highly likely most of his new songs may sound just as surreal as his first single, “Lights Up”. And speaking of the track, fans can expect Styles to perform it in his upcoming hosting and musical stint on SNL this coming November 16, 2019.

Furthermore, Styles plans to hold a ‘One Night Only’ in LA to celebrate the release of “Fine Line”. Entitled “Harry Styles – Fine Line Live at The Forum,” the British pop star will perform tracks from the new record. Tickets for this event will go on presale this Thursday, November 7, 2019. More fans can then avail tickets on the official public sale the next morning, 9:00 am on November 8, 2019. Though there’s no word if the former One Direction member will perform all of the 12 songs from the new album.  Harry Styles’ “Fine Line” album will drop on December 13, 2019. You can pre-order the record by clicking here. As little is still known about the upcoming release, stay tuned on this space for more updates.
