London, get ready as Junction 2 just revealed their initial lineup for 2020! A mix of festival mainstays and big-named powerhouses, the event promises a diverse selection of EDM for next year. Similarly to the 2018 edition, the organizers seem to be dividing the festival into two days again, packing in an exciting weekend devoted to dance and house music.  Next year, the likes of Adam Beyer, Honey Dijon, Amelie Lens, and more will take over the South London festival. Adam Beyer, in particular, has become a mainstay in the festival. At last year’s edition, he even played back2back with legendary producer Carl Cox. Notably, Jon Hopkins will headline the Friday leg of next year’s festival. Honey Dijon, Avalon Emerson, and the Hessle Audio Trio will join him as the other player on that first day. By this group alone, it’s safe to say that Friday will sound quite eclectic, taking into account all these DJs distinctly different approaches to EDM.

Meanwhile, Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, Dax J, and Adam Beyer will headline Saturday. The latter has been having a big year this 2019, so it’s no surprise that Junction 2 wants him to come back for next year’s event. Whether he will play b2b with Carl Cox again remains to be seen. For one thing, apart from this festival, numerous others have booked Beyer as part of their eclectic lineups. DJ Mag, the online publication that chose him as one of their recent featured DJs, booked the Swedish producer for their “DJ Mag Presents” party in the UK. He will play at the event which will be held this November 27, 2019.   Amelie Lens is also an EDM heavyweight that attendees probably feel most excited about. Similarly to Beyer, Lens has been killing it in festivals and raves all-year-long. One of her more recent successes was her Exhale party during this year’s OFFSonár Festival in Barcelona. The Belgian DJ played for several hours straight, starting at 4:00 pm int he afternoon up until the sun rose the very next day. Fans who attended the festival claimed her party as one of the best at this year’s edition. Furthermore, other events like Movement Torino and the No Sleep Festival have all booked her to headline their upcoming festivals.

Surprisingly, Avalon Emerson is also one name that has incited much excitement from fans. The young American DJ is slowly rising up the ranks in terms of becoming a key headliner in various EDM festivals in the world. Apart from Junction 2, Trouble Vision, Love International, and Simple Things have all enlisted the producer to play at their respective festivals. It’s clear that many EDM events are seeing her potential in the game, but up against the likes of Beyer, Lens, Dijon, and the like, she will have to prove to Junction 2 audiences that she deserves to play right up there with the greats.  Junction 2 2020 will run from June 5 to 6, 2020. The lineup they announced serves as just the initial list of headliners. It’s possible they will add more s the festival draws near. Stay tuned on this space for more updates.
