Ultra South Africa may not be the most popular festival in the world, but it has invited a lot of superstars over the years. And based on their recently-announced lineup for their Phase 1, their 2020 festival looks no different. They just released six names who will headline the event, which consists of both home-grown talent and international heavyweights!  Steve Aoki, Dash Berlin, and Afrojack were just some names Ultra South Africa touted as their 2020 headliners. They’re likely going to take over the main stage during the first day of the festival. Prominent South African DJ Black Coffee will also play at the event. He plans to provide some much-needed homegrown flavor to all the internationally acclaimed talent. Though the EDM star has, himself traveled worldwide in his career. Furthermore, the French superstar DJ Snake will also make an appearance in Ultra South Africa, fresh off of his new album. While British up-and-comer Jamie Jones will finally debut in the continent via the 2020 festival.

As proven by such big names, Ultra South Africa clearly has no problem getting the biggest names in the game as their headliners. Though other Ultra editions usually attract more attention and are generally more popular, this South African festival has never failed to steal the spotlight with their own exciting lineups. Through the years, they’ve offered the likes of Zedd, Skrillex, Hardwell, David Guetta, and Armin van Buuren, among others. Name a well-known DJ and it’s highly likely that they’ve played at this event. And considering that the South African edition only started in 2014, this has been notable indeed.  Though there’s no word yet as to who will close out the festival’s Phase 1, Steve Aoki seems the likely candidate. Not only is he one of the world’s most famous DJs, but he has also grown his brand and business over the years. It seems fitting that the Japanese-American will bring the house down on the event’s first phase. Just recently, in fact, he announced his own Splice Sound Pack. “This is a great pack for any producer in the dance world. Exploring it is an exciting process because when you jump into different genres from hip hop to Latin to K-pop, you’re hearing all the different sounds and how it all works.” he shared about the new product.

However, DJ Snake also seems a likely candidate as the closer. Throughout the year, and even during late last year, the French producer has been releasing music left and right. Late last year, he collaborated with the likes of Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and Reggeaton singer Ozuna to release “Taki Taki,”. Earlier this year, on the other hand, he teamed up with Colombian superstar J Balvin for “Loco Contigo”. And just last month, he dropped the music video for “Fuego” featuring Anitta and Sean Paul. These all culminated in his releasing his second studio album, “Carte Blanche,” last July.  Ultra South Africa will run from September 28 to 29, 2019 in Capetown, South Africa. Stay tuned on this space for more updates!
