The Fendi store along Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills lit up in a bright neon pink hue in celebration of the brand’s new capsule collection, ‘Fendi Prints On‘. Nicki Minaj collaborated with the Italian luxury label to design the 127-piece offering, which includes streetwear, resort-wear, accessories, and more. ‘Barbz’ even co-released a track to go with it!

The party became one of the biggest fashion events in Beverly Hills during this month so far. DJ Va$htie provided the tunes while stars like Chloe and Halle Bailey, Paris Jackson, Sydney Sweeney, and Storm Reid, among others. “I feel like Fendi is an iconic brand, but also a way to express yourself. They take so many risks, which I love as an artist,” Reid told Vogue magazine at the time. While Sweeney praised the rapper for a job well done. “Who doesn’t love Nicki? Her music is amazing, and I’m wearing the collection tonight. I was terrified I wasn’t going to be able to pull anything off, but she made it so anybody could feel sexy.”.

When the magazine approached Minaj about the collection, she shared how the collaboration came about. “I made a song called ‘Chun Li’ and I said ‘Fendi prints on.’ I asked to use Fendi on the cover art and they were all with it. I had already shot with Karl Lagerfeld and he was someone that I always loved so much, and when I realized that he liked me, it just warmed my heart because I was so obsessed with him. So, they gave me permission to use Fendi.” she relayed. Though there’s no word of Lagerfeld had any say on this line before he passed on, the “Megatron” rapper did work with Silvia Venturini Fendi.

“Fendi then brought me out to Milan and said, ‘When your song came out, the clothes that had the actual Fendi prints on started selling more.’ I respected them so much for telling me that; we all know how hip-hop influences fashion, but a lot of times, we don’t get that credit, so I fell in love with them for saying that.” Shared Minaj about the process of designing. Most of the pieces do contain the Fendi monogram as well, but this time, instead of their signature brown hue, they’re colored in bright neon pink and metallic silver. In fact, most of the A-list guests were already wearing such selections.

As for her music career, things are still up in the air. She plans to retire from the industry to work on creating a family with current beau (possibly husband) Kenneth Petty. But recently, the rapper made headlines for seemingly announcing a collaboration with Adele during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Adele made me swear to secrecy that I’m not allowed to tell anyone that I’m working with her. And that we already shot a video. And it’s an epic song,” she quipped.

However, she eventually admitted that she was only joking. She tweeted, “Omg guys. 😅🤣 I thought everyone could clearly see I was being sarcastic. Shit! Now I have to go to Adele’s studio & steal some files. Who’s in the UK? I got a job for you 🥴
