The Polish city of Kraków is about to get lit as Unsound just revealed their final 2019 lineup. For this year’s festival, they locked-in Objekt, Violet, Citizen Boy and many more. They’ll also feature two back-to-back sets, one with Eris Drew & Octo Octa and another with TSVI & DJ Plead

Even with a stellar EDM lineup like this, however, Unsound is also known for their daytime offerings. They include a series of discussions, workshops, and exhibitions. Before fans party with the superstar DJs at night, they can attend these afternoon events for free. Solidarity is this year’s theme, with artists and activists who will share their insights on various topics at hand. Amsterdam-based design collective Metahaven, for instance, will present an exhibition that will highlight filmmaking, writing, and design. While activist Ewa Majewska plans to lead a forum on feminist theories and their relevance to today’s troubling times.  Such a series of progressive activities comes as no surprise, even if the event is taking place in a relatively conservative region. Among other troubles, Poland has seen a spike in anti-LGBTQ+ violence in recent months. This led several companies and entities to seek global support. Unsound is one of them, and with a theme that highlights ‘solidarity,’ attendees can expect an outpour of support and love from invited guests and headliners for the minority group.

Still, a lot of Unsound festival-goers are likely to focus more on the EDM stars that will headline their evening raves. Among them, Objekt incites a lot of excitement, especially since the DJ plans to drop his first official LP since 2014. In fact, last weekend, the Berlin-based producer released the upcoming record’s first single, “Secret Snake”. The track, unsurprisingly, stays true to his futuristic form. Its transcendent and atmospheric tone gives off a sort of inter-galactic vibe, the likes of which are fairly new in the EDM game. Though it’s not the rave-ready type most EDM fans usually go for, the unique offering has already stood out.

Another relative comeback kid is DJ Violet. In December of last year, the Lisbon-born producer took a bad fall that resulted in a severely broken leg. The incident, unfortunately, came after what was a great year for the EDM star. She went on a successful tour and got a flurry of gigs in various big-named festivals and events. But because of her fall, she had to cancel a lot of what would have been career-changing gigs at the beginning of this year. Though she has since returned to form in recent months, Unsound 2019 is yet another feather in her cap in her much-awaited comeback!

Unsound 2019 will run from October 6 to 13, 2019 in Kraków, Poland. Apart from your usual raves and electric sets, the festival will also feature a bevy of forums, workshops, and more that are free to the public. Learn more about it and how you can get tickets by clicking hereImage Credits:
