Looks like Taylor Swift has a new reason to clam down. Forbes magazine just named her the highest-paid celebrity of 2019. And this is before she’s released her upcoming album. “Lover,” this August. By then, she would have exceeded the huge figure the financial publication reported on just recently. The pop star topped their annual ‘Celebrity 100‘ list, which also included the likes of Kylie Jenner, Lionel Messi, and her own rival, Kanye West. According to Forbes.com, Swift has earned a mindblowing $185 million in pretax income this past year. It’s a whopping 131% increase from her hefty $80 million in 2018. But how can the country-singer-turned-pop-star earn so much when she’s only about to drop her new album? Well, she has her latest tour, Netflix special, and advertising deals to thank. Her “Reputation” tour, which raked in $266.1 million in the United States alone and $345 million worldwide, contributed to her earning that top spot. Afterward, the aforementioned tour became a Netflix special, which helped Swift earn more income in helping make up that big sum.

It also helped that the pop star had endorsement deals with companies like Apple, AT&T, Diet Coke, and more. With all these driving her bank account, she was able to top Kylie Jenner, Kanye West, and Lionel Messi as the top-earning celebrity of this year. Though it’s an incredible feat, it’s not her first time topping this list. Back in 2016, Forbes magazine also named her the highest-paid celebrity of the year when she earned a pretax income of $170 million. Back then, her “The 1989 World Tour” also helped her earn such a staggering figure. Her 2019 earnings will only go up from there as her new album, “Lover,” later this August. Apart from the standard release, the songstress is also releasing four special editions of the record in partnership with Target. Each version will contain different content, which may include additional songs, music videos, and behind-the-scenes footage. Additionally, she’s also collaborating with fashion designer Stella McCartney for a capsule line of clothing and accessories inspired by her new album. She shared that each and every piece will be inspired by all songs in the new record. It’ll drop around the same time as the album, both on Taylor Swift’s official website and McCartney’s eCommerce platform.

This all comes as good news for Swift, who recently expressed concern on social media about her past music. Scooter Braun, manager to a lot of big-named artists, recently bought Big Machine Records, the pop star’s old record label.  With the purchase came Swift’s entire music catalog, down from her debut country album to 2017’s “Reputation”. The singer alleges that Braun had been a bully to her during her time in Big Machine Records, especially during her whole debacle against Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Braun has yet to respond to Swift’s claims himself, but a number of his clients, including Justin Beiber and Demi Lovato, have come to his defense. Taylor Swift’s “Lover” will drop on August 23, 2019. For now, you can stream her first two singles from it, “Me!” and “You Need To Calm Down” on various platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
