Things are about to get a lot more relaxing with Above & Beyond. The legendary trance trio devoted their upcoming new album, “Flow State,” to yoga. Though the group has mixed yoga-centric music before, this is the first time they’re actually releasing them in an official record.A complete departure from their most recent releases, such as their “Common Ground” album from last year, this new record aims to serve as the perfect music for the exercise. In fact, the British-born Trance band has centered their music on self-care and relaxation for quite some time now. They began in 2014 at the iconic Burning Man festival. A spontaneous set of soothing trance music accompanied a massive yoga session at the event. Since then, they’ve become big proponents of yoga music within the trance and EDM communities.
“Flow State,” their upcoming record, pays credence to that part of the trio’s prolific career. “Our music has always been about getting in touch with, and understanding and accepting our emotions. After those amazing yoga sets, we realized that there is a bigger place for this more reflective music within our little universe,” they shared in an official statement. Subsequently, Elena Brower, a prominent yoga instructor, accompanied their new record with a 13-minute talk on self-acceptance. Brower also facilitated the massive yoga session at Burning Man 2014.
Furthermore, in celebration of ‘International Yoga Day’ last Friday, June 21, 2019, Above & Beyond released a three-track sample of “Flow State.” You can stream it below:
