Uniqlo is having a major graphics moment right now. Following their successful collaborations with KAWS and Blizzard entertainment, they now have a new partnership for customers to look forward to. Artist Peter Saville is the Japanese retail brand’s latest collaborator. Together, they designed a series of activewear pieces with abstract prints and patterns.
With an acid color palette of neon pastels and deep navies, it’s a cool new streetwear offering for the sporty sophisticate. Consequently, the pieces are as simple as can be, with their signature high-quality fabrication as the foundation of the line. A highlighter green-shaded polo shirt is an instant stand out, not only for its vivid hue but also for its sleek shape. Deep navy hoodies with a misty print make for a mysterious work-out outfit that can also work for a last-minute party garb. While for the ladies, they can’t go wrong with the icy pink boat-neck tee with a surreal and almost-faded marble-like pattern.

Peter Saville is no stranger to fashion collaborations. Through the years, he’s worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. In fact, he was responsible for Burberry’s new check under Riccardo Tisci, a revolution that rocked the scene when it first came out. He’s also a long-time collaborator of Raf Simons, decorating his streetwear pieces for over twenty years. The Belgian designer has headed some of the biggest luxury labels in the world, including Dior and Calvin Klein. It’s possible Saville has helped with Simons’ works there too.The ‘Peter Saville x Uniqlo’ activewear collection will hit the brand’s Japanese site on June 24, 2019. As of this writing, there’s no word yet as to when they’ll release the line in Western stores and sites. Stay tuned!
