While the first Monday of May has the Met Gala, the first Monday of June was all about the CFDA Awards. The Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded the very best in the industry last June 3, 2019. It was regarded as the “Oscars of Fashion,” and the red carpet of such was just as glamorous. This year, the likes of Jennifer Lopez—accompanied by her baseball legend fiancé Alex Rodriguez—Gigi Hadid, the Olsen twins, and more dazzled with their A-list styles.

Though the ceremony was filled with style stars all around, some shone brighter than others. See model Winnie Harlow in her fanciful feathery frock by Christian Siriano. The designer also dressed the very voluptuous Ashley Graham in an old Hollywood-style LBD complete with accentuated curves and exaggerated shoulders. Meanwhile, actresses Diane Kruger and Lili Reinhart kept thing relatively simple yet still sophisticated. The former went with a red ruffled slip by Jason Wu, while the latter opted for a more tailored black and white look from Carolina Herrera.Of course, you can’t beat the Hadid sisters in the red carpet game. Gigi wore a pale blue Off-White pantsuit complete with the designer, Virgil Abloh, by her arm. Bella, on the other hand, chose a sparkling disco-ready halter dress from Michael Kors. Brooke Shields also got down with disco style with a full-on sequinned jumpsuit by Sachin & Babi.

As for the men, singer Swae Lee repped Telfar well with a fitted tee and a nice pair of khakis. He also went to the ceremony with the designer, Telfar Clemens himself. While “Queer Eye” hunk Antoni Porowski went wild with color in a Sies Marjan ensemble.

Some of the big winners of the night included Brandon Maxwell, who won the Womenswear Designer of The Year award. Paris-based Rick Owens won the Menswear Designer of the Year award. And the Accessories Designer of The Year award went to the Olsen twins of The Row. JLo even received an award herself that night too. She won the Style Icon Award which, judging by her Ralph Lauren dress that night, was a well-deserved accolade!
