Look out Drake, someone’s after your record! Billie Eilish’s debut EP returns to the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 200 Albums chart after a month. “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” beat out the latest releases from the likes of DJ Khaled and Tyler, The Creator. It even demolished the highly-anticipated release of the official movie soundtrack of Disney’s “Aladdin” live-action remake.
The industry neophyte’s first release has enjoyed the top spot three times in a span of a few months. Such a feat was last achieved by rapper Drake with his “Views” album back in 2016. Though it debuted back in late March, Eilish’s EP never went down beyond the fourth ranking. Even when other records ranked first, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” was always just trailing behind. Now, with a whopping 62,000 album units sold, it beat out DJ Khaled’s “Father of Asahd.” The latter experienced a 58% decline in recent weeks.Tyler, The Creator’s much-anticipated fifth album, “IGOR” went to third with only 51,000 units sold. The record debuted strong with a top 1 finish back in late May when it was first released. “IGOR” marks the first time that rapper reached the number one spot.
Meanwhile, Moneybagg Yo’s “43VA Heartless” debuts at the number 4 spot, his highest ranking so far. And completing the top 5 is Khalid’s “Free Spirits,” which is in its eighth week within the Top 5 rankings. This singer’s second studio album also enjoyed the top spot before it was beaten by Tyler, The Creator and Eilish.
Billie Eilish’s top-ranking EP contains her some of her old songs and latest single, “Bad Guy”. The latter ranked seventh on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming her first Top 10 hit ever. Watch the music videos below:
