Sylvester Stallone is back as Rambo and he’s out for blood! The trailer of the fifth installment of the movie franchise, entitled “Rambo V: Last Blood,” just dropped and it’s as action-packed as ever. It shows Stallone’s John Rambo preparing to have one final fight. He’s taking it to Mexico this time, against a drug cartel who kidnapped a young girl from his ranch.

Noticeably, the Vietnam veteran has a new look in the film. He traded in his famous scruffy hair and war bandana for a more laid-back cowboy style complete with a ten-gallon hat. Though his weapons of choice remain the same: a bow and arrow and a sharp machete. The trailer shows him wielding the former before he goes out to war and sharpening the latter in preparation for more bloodshed. Of course, he gets his hands on a couple of machine guns as well, firing them in true Rambo fashion! The film also sees him going home for the first time, back in Arizona where his father has a ranch. It’s here where his new story of combat, bloodshed, and revenge will begin. “All these years I’ve kept my secrets. But the time has come to face my past,” said Rambo in the trailer’s narration. Stallone explained this as one of the more unique parts of the film compared to the previous four installments. “In every film, Rambo never goes home, he goes out to the jungle or Afghanistan. In the new one, he does come home, but in a way, he never arrives. He’s there, but he’s not. That’s what the whole story is built around. As soon as he walks outside his door, he has no more control. The world controls you.” he shared in an interview during the recently-concluded Cannes Film Festival.

It’ll be amazing to see how this iconic fighter will battle it out, especially since the war reaches his home-turf and himself has reached a certain age. “Rambo V: Last Blood” will premiere on September 20, 2019.
