Iggy Azalea isn’t feeling so “fancy” right now. She recently shut down most of her social media accounts after topless photos of her leaked online. The photographs were outtakes from a 2016 shoot the rapper took with the Australian edition of GQ Magazine. They named her their “Woman Of The Year,” that year. Though Azalea consented to a topless shoot, she only expected the images wherein her hands were covering her breasts to be published.
She shared her frustrations in a lengthy post online. The rapper questioned the outtakes’ availability and the motive of the public leak online. “I’m surprised and angry that they were not immediately deleted after the final images were selected,” she ranted. She also relayed that she’s planning to press charges against those responsible for the leak online. “I fully intend on finding out where the leak originated and pressing criminal charges in regards to this.”She continued on to state that the final straw for her was the backlash of negative comments she received because of the scandal. “I have seen some really vicious s**t written in the last 24 hours and it is too much negativity for me to handle. For now, it’s best to keep my accounts activated.” she shared.
Nino Muñoz, the photographer of the said shoot, also released his own statement regarding the scandal. He posted on his Instagram stories saying, “I’m outraged and saddened to find out that images of mine were stolen and published without my permission. I empathize with any discomfort that this situation has caused to anyone that is involved.”As of this writing, there’s still no conclusive information as to who is responsible for the leak. In the meantime, Azalea continues to promote the first two singles, “Sally Walker” and “Started,” on her upcoming album, “In My Defense.” She’ll release her new record sometime next month.
